I Wonder, Woman, What Are You Made of?
A Winter Series,

Day 5 of 8

How Do You Fight A Battle You Have No Control Over?

There, out of nowhere comes the biggest battle of your life and you don’t have any control over the situation. What do you do? The first thing you should do is place it in the hands of the only ONE who does have control—Jesus Christ! In Deuteronomy 20:4 it says, “for the LORD your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.“ The Word of God is your greatest weapon when you are in a war. SPEAK the Word of God OUT LOUD over your situation! Another scripture that may bring you comfort is Deuteronomy‬ ‭30‬:‭7‬, ”And the LORD thy God will put all these curses upon thine enemies, and on them that hate thee, which persecuted thee.“

The next thing‭ you can do is “fast”. Fasting feeds your “spirit” instead of your stomach and it takes your prayer life to a whole new level! You will find that it will be the greatest moments of surrender when you go before the Lord to commune with Him instead of feeding your flesh. This is an act of obedience that should only be kept in secret between you and the Lord. Let Him decide to what extent—one meal, one day, Esther fast, or a Daniel fast. The Lord will show you what kind of fast He wants you to do and how long the fast should be.

Lastly you must pray “fervently” over your situation. Ask the Lord what it is you are to learn during this time. There is always a lesson to be learned so you can grow spiritually stronger. When Satan attacks your life, it’s not about your present, it’s about your future. He’s trying to prevent you from growing in the Lord because you are becoming a force to reckon with! Sit in the presence of the Lord and just “be still” so you can hear His voice. He will give you direction if you stay and linger with Him. And when you come out of your prayer closet, only speak VICTORY over your situation. The power of your words are greater than you could ever imagine. Hold on to what the Lord has spoken to you in your time of prayer. He will come through with every promise He has made.
